- It is common cause in the entertainment and event space that an event may either be postponed or cancelled due to natural causes or reasons beyond the organizers control
- In the case of a postponement, the Ticket Holder may expressly request a refund or retain the ticket until the new date of the event
- It goes without saying that an outright cancellation will automatically trigger a refund without exception or hesitation
- The Ticket Holder must bear in mind that a ticket will not be refunded in full, but rather with a deduction to defray the he costs of admin, handling fees and bank charges
- The refund charge is calculated at a rate ranging between 5 and 20 percent of the ticket price, as may be determined by the ticket vendor or ticketing platform
- The actual reimbursement could either be automatic or may be determined by the organizers, the ticket vendor and ticketing platform
- The time period for refunds could range between 48 hours to seven days, depending on realities of day and the prevailing conditions at the time
- Such eventualities are often unavoidable always regrettable, as they tend to inconvenience the revellers and come with the burden of lost income for the organiser
- The organizer will for all intents and purposes ensure that the Ticket Holder is not disadvantaged any more than the very inconvenience of the postponement or cancellation
